1. Introduction of guests.
2. Minutes of the last meeting were approved as written.
3. Secretary report: received 2009 specialty judges contracts signed and agreed to.
4. Treasurer report: see attached report.
5. Puppy Match: A really great puppy match with special thanks to Lucy Clem for all the hard work in putting it on and special thanks to Dede Rogers for a wonderful job judging.
6. Breeder referral: Judy needs to know who has puppies.
7. Judges: 2008 Specialty Sara Taylor and Bettie Kramp. Need names of All- Breed judges for our preferred list so we can pick from there too at some of the supported entries.
8. Legislative: Ohio: Kennel licensing bill need help to fight it. Not a good bill.
9. Membership: Glad to welcome Kathy Garcia into membership of the OVPWCC. Beth Berman and John Thigpen had their second readings.
10. Ovation: please remember to get your newsletter or let Nancy know if you did not get one.
11. Rescue: The rescue Parade was a lot of fun. Still need foster homes. We have been getting good feedback from our rescue homes.
12. Trophies: For our supported entries in Louisville: Motion made by Marilyn Midkiff to buy our BOB ribbons/trophy from the kennel clubs for our supported entries. Seconded by Gerald Kyle. Motion passed.
13. 2008 Specialty: Discussed need to raise our entry fees another $3 due to AKC raising their prices. Sally Wynn motioned to raise the prices by $3. Seconded by Bob Saffell. Motion passed.
14. AKC and our Constitution: The board decided that we will continue to operate under our new constitution until we can get an answer from AKC.
15. Awards: Motion to hand out 2006 Awards in Nov by Neena Seconded by Pam Hudson. Motioned Passed. Neena also moved to present awards yearly at the July meeting. Sally Wynn seconded. Bruce Coyne amended the notion to “present the awards yearly but no earlier than the July meeting”. Kathy Garcia seconded. Amended motion passed.
16. Pam Hudson has been working on writing up formal job descriptions. Copies will be passed out to everyone by the secretary.
17. Bob Saffell motioned to adjourn. Adrienne Saffell seconded. Meeting adjourned at 2:50pm.
